This policy is organized around the real flow of the site: creating an account, signing in, saving owner and pet information, booking care, receiving care updates in the dashboard, and handling payment and emergency communication when needed. The point is to make the important parts easy to spot at a glance.

Information Collected

Ryan's Petsitting may collect account, owner, pet, and booking information, including:

  • name, email, username, and password for account access
  • login verification and password reset details when account security features are used
  • owner address, city, zip code, and phone number
  • emergency contact name and emergency contact phone number
  • pet names, ages, medication notes, and pet photos
  • requested booking dates, service type, booking confirmations, payment status, and meet-and-greet review status
  • behavior notes, aggression disclosures, bite history, reactivity, and other safety-related details shared during booking
  • care update notes and optional update photos posted during active bookings

How Information Is Used

Information is used to manage the client account, secure sign-in, coordinate pet care, schedule bookings, plan and review meet-and-greets for first-time clients, evaluate whether a booking can be safely accepted, post care updates to the owner dashboard during active bookings, and contact the owner or emergency contact if something comes up during care. It is collected to support real pet-sitting operations, including safety and care planning, not to create extra friction.

Payments And Notifications

Payment processing is handled through Stripe checkout when configured. A beginning deposit equal to 1 overnight stay or 1 check-in day is collected when a multi-day booking is placed. For one-day bookings, that payment covers the full total. That deposit may hold the requested dates while a booking remains pending meet-and-greet review, rather than serving as immediate final approval for care. For longer approved bookings, the remaining balance may be automatically charged on the final day of care using the payment method saved through Stripe checkout. Ryan's Petsitting may decline a booking after the meet-and-greet if there are safety concerns, aggressive behavior, an unsafe home environment, or materially incomplete or inaccurate disclosures. If that happens, the requested dates may be released and any refund handling will follow the stated booking terms. Booking confirmations and alerts may also be sent through connected email and SMS services. Ryan's Petsitting does not store full payment card details directly in the site database.

Dashboards, Updates, And Access

Owner records are tied to the account that created them. Logged-in owners can review, update, or delete their own records through the site tools, view booking history, review booking and meet-and-greet status, and view care updates tied to their own active or past bookings. The master account can access records for day-to-day business operations and care coordination, including owner details, pet details, bookings, behavior and safety notes submitted during booking, meet-and-greet decisions, and booking update history. Regular owners are not given access to other owners' records.

Photos And Private Media

Pet photos and booking update photos can be uploaded through the site. These images are used to support care coordination and owner communication inside the portal. Ryan's Petsitting aims to keep those images tied to the relevant account or booking view rather than exposing them publicly through the website.

Care Location

Ryan's Petsitting provides in-home pet care only. Pets remain in the owner's home, and the site information is collected to support that in-home service model.
